Getting There

Avenham and Miller Parks are situated quite close to the town centre. The best way to reach the parks is to go via Winckley Square down the street next to Barclays Bank. This small green area is very picturesque and pleasant to walk through while you make your way closer to the entrance to Avenham Park. The number 27 route from the Bus Station stops quite close to the two streets that lead down to Winckley Square and the timetables for this bus route are available here.

There are excellent cycle routes available throughout the parks that lead further on to other places such as Lancaster. National Cycle Route 6 passes right through the parks so finding your way through is just a simple matter of following the signs along the way. More information about National Cycle Routes can be obtained from the sustrans website.

By Car

Close by is St. George's Shopping Centre Car Park or Fishergate Shopping Centre Car Park which are within a short walking distance from the parks. There is an access to the park more directly from Fishergate but requires climbing the steps at the back of the car park to the railway bridge. Turning left at the top of the stairs and then walking a short distance where you take the first right will lead to a park entrance.

By Train

If you are coming to Avenham and Miller Parks by train then, as the train station is situated so closely to the Fishergate Shopping Centre Car Park, you just follow the instructions the same as arriving by car. It's just a short walk to the car park from the train station.
